I lived in MB for a few years. The beaches are nice, I wouldn't say gorgeous but my latest comparison is Negril where we married late August. But I worked with a photography studio in Myrtle and did shoot some brides at some beautiful places. The Hilton is oceanfront, as is the Grand Dunes Marriott - which is a FAB hotel! Further south, there is Atalaya an old castle type local beachside, a very cool spot for bridal portraits. It's near Huntington Beach State Park (if I remember correctly), the latter's beach is more quiet and serene. Another suggestion is Brookgreen Gardens, which combines art in its amazing gardens.

I am a MB bride and even though our water is not bright blue(more of a glass green in my opinion) our beaches are very nice. I agree with the Grande Dunes, or the Hilton, or there are many large beach houses in the area that allow you to have weddings at them.

I got married 10/10/09 in myrtle at a large beach house. We were married on the beach and had everyone at the house for the reception. It was perfect. We had 65-70 people come from Pittsburgh and New York and they all had a blast. My pictures from the wedding are beautiful.
