Guests Who Are Dragging Their Feet

Hi Destination Brides!
I am past the RSVP date for my wedding now as I need to get my guest list to the resort next week.
Are any of you getting the old, "well, we're trying to see if we can make it, we just don't know yet". I already have 2 couples who will be on the fence until the very end due to healthcare (and I understand that flexibility is needed for this). But I've got 5 other couples who are "still trying to see" even though they received Save the Dates 8 months ago and their invitations in August! (My wedding is November 7th).
While I am honored they are considering flying all the way to Mexico to celebrate with us, I work full time and go to school, I'm trying to stay on schedule so that I can get the OOT bags, favors and centerpieces ordered to avoid ordering stuff online without the $50 FedEx Rush fee!!!
I'm partially venting and partially wanting to know if you are experiencing this and how you are handeling it.

Yes. It has been hard pinning responses down and we had some that just never responded at all, which just amazes me. We gave them a self addressed stamped envelope, just check the box. I had three cancellations due to medical issues and that I understand. We emailed and called 1 week after our date and then said that is it. It is always easier ti add then to pay (if you are not all inclusive). And yes it was a pain with the OOT bags and seating charts. For. The OOT bags I would just plan on 2-3 extra. Sorry, I know it sucks.

I totally am getting the same thing...oot wedding but sent STD's months in advance....just check the frekkin box and return with the self addressed STAMPED envelope people!! God I feel better now!! LOL!! Have even called two couples and some other singles to make certain. And 2 said no, and the others are on the fence still. So I get the whole frustration thing. It is frustrating.

Yea. Now I am getting cancelations due to family "emergencies". At least now I don't have to worry about OOT bags and goodies since I ordered a few more than I needed. I am trying to go with the flow, but sometimes I just don't understand why people don't respect the fact that you are trying to plan something out of the state, let alone the country!

We STILL have a few guys that are still considering buying airfare at this late date...don't they know we are feeding people?? HELLO!!! I am 9 days out and confused how someone could still be on the fence for an oot wedding!! I do feel better now!! AGAIN!!

Kat I so feel you! We are getting the same response about our wedding (also @ Barcelo), and though our wedding isn't until next June, it feels like no one is going to come.
