I've been thinking a long time that for the escort cards I want to get like a box, fill it with sand, and then have starfish with names tied on to them.
How would one go about making this?
How do you get the starfish to stand up? Is it easy!? Where would you order the starfish from?
I am very uncreative and not good with DIY so please help! :)

You are wanting to do exactly what we are doing for our wedding.
I bought a silver tray at Old Time Pottery for $2.99 and got the starfish from Deltona Shells. Their prices are pretty reasonable. I packed the tray with sand I collected from the beach and and pushed the starfish down in the sand and they just stayed. I had to make sure there was a lot of sand in the tray. As far as the names, I am still working on that. I found these white escort cards at Michael's ($ 2.99 for 40- Gartner Studio's is the brand) and it gives you a website to go to for the template. I am going to print the names on these cards and then mount them on this aqua cardstock I got from Michael's and then tie it to the starfish with sand colored raffia. If you can think of something I mssed you can email me at sabnrob06 at yahoo dot com
I hope this helps and Good Luck!!

My wedding in next weekend and I ordered my starfish escort cards from Shor Chic (thanks to a tip from another Knottie) online and they took care of all of it for me. My wedding is in FL and I live in OH so I had the box shipped there and haven't seen them yet but they cost around $3.20 a piece and that includes a magnet on the back of each. My soon to be mother in law says they are darling cute. I opted for one escort card per couple or individual. This also makes a nice thank you take home momento. I ordered two galvanized trays for $15 each and will fill them with sand from the beach when we get down there. I found so many ideas on this website. I mocked their natural handwoven fans and did those myself. So Fun!
Here is the website to Shor Chic-
